Our History & Mission

SABIS® International School - Phoenix started in the 2001-2002 academic year. In its first year of operation, SIS-Phoenix welcomed 300 students ranging from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Since the first year it has grown to serve 720 students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade. The 25-acre campus includes a 70,000 square foot school which houses a library, gymnasium, computer room, music and art rooms, as well as an outdoor track and soccer field.

SABIS® International School - Phoenix is operated under the A.R.S. Title 15, Chapter 1, Article 8 governing charter schools. SIS received recognition from the Arizona Department of Education from 2005-2010 as a Performing Plus school.  The school earned an “A” rating in 2011 and 2012 and a “B” rating in 2013.  For the last 5 years, SIS has made AYP (Adequate Year Progress), a proud accomplishment, and holds co-accreditation from Accreditation International and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. SIS has also received recognition from the National Center for Educational Statistics.

The mission of SABIS International School is to provide a quality, college-preparatory education to children of different races, nationalities, and backgrounds. The School will give students a solid and broad academic basis and the critical-thinking and social-judgment skills to succeed in the complex, modern world.
