Farewell Message from Mr. Will Henry
Dear SABIS® School Community,
I hope this letter finds you doing well surrounded by your family and friends.
During this unprecedented time, I hope that you are able to draw on each other for courage and mental toughness to get through difficult days.
It is with great regret that I am sending this letter to announce my departure from SABIS® International School, effective June 30th.. It has been an honor to have been a member of the SIS – Phoenix Community for 18 years. The South Mountain Community welcomed me to the neighborhood in 2002, and the relationships I have had the opportunity to develop, the students that I have taught and coached, and the parents that I have helped along the way are something that I will always treasure. Although I am a South Side Chicago Native, I can truly say that you made me feel like a member of your family.
I started at SABIS® International School -- Phoenix in 2001 as an English teacher and coach. My 14 years in school administration, 10 of those years as the School Director, were an absolute honor. I have watched our intelligent students from kindergarten to eighth grade become leaders in the school and within their community. I knew that I was in the right place when I saw many of these students return with their own children, and many returned to work in the building. SABIS® International School continues to be the crown jewel in the South Mountain Community.
As I continue the next chapter in my life, I want you to know that each student, parent, and grandparent that I met at the crosswalk formed a memory for me that will be hard to let go. Each time we talked, it added to the richness of the school community. The faculty and staff members in the building that will continue to serve your children stand ready to assist during this time. The same warm and caring members are still in the building and ready to serve. Familiarity during this time and being a part of a large family can be a great part of setting you up for success.
I look forward to taking what I have learned from all of you and making it a part of the next chapter in my career. My hope is the best for you and your child’s education. Our children are bright and inquisitive, and the best place for them is in the SABIS® Classroom. Encourage them to pursue their education vigorously and let them know that there will be many graduations that they will experience in life.
Thank you for the opportunity to be a servant on behalf of the school. I look forward to celebrating the school’s future achievements. Be good to yourself and others.
Mr. W. Henry
